Lausanne and the Leman region

On Sat morning, after a "friendly" talk at the hotel, we took the train to Lausanne, went to the hotel (yes! for Nash Carlton), and then headed to the wine region of Leman.

The walk was really charming... only tiny tiny town or let's use the proper word - villages where you can die starving because no groceries stores exist or are open :) well, I probably overexagerate it to a given extend but we were in one village looking for food and the local people told us that we have to go to one of the 2 "bigger" villages... we walked then for additional 1/2 hour , didn't find a restaurant which serves anything but a cake (1place) and the grocery store was closed... Employees were still inside so we tried our best to convince them to let us in, but we were told that the cashiers are closed so hungry and with hope, we headed to Vevey where the task was still a challenge and we found a place where we had a sandwitch - it tasted really good esp when we were starving.

So, being already fed, we decided to continue the exploration and visit the well advertised and talked about village of Chardonne... a charming small village... bought a bottle of wine... saw a few houses (that were marked as must see) and decided to get back to Lausanne and check out the life there :)

The city of Lausanne lives and you can feel it! Again, people speak French. I haven't used as much French in Montreal as I have been using in Switzerland I think!

Let me say, that you can find also a cute place where you can have creps and if you find a hair in your crepe you should talk with the boss in order to get a discount and remuneration for the bed experience... man, this will hardly happen in Canada or the US....

whatever... the City of Lausanne is a nice spot with beautiful cathedral, places here and there, first subway in Switzerland and an olimpic spirit.
